I’ve been restless to finally get this post out, as it’s just so bloody exciting. Last week the Young Punx dropped us a line to let us know of the release of their second studio album, which officially drops today. In this Phonat-produced offering, the Punx weave an auditory tapestry in which genre has no place. They somehow manage to fuse drum and bass into disco into hiphop into synthpop. The sneaky bastards even toss in some opera. It’s a fantastically thoughtful and mind bending ride, as one never knows quite what’s next… like you’re punched in the face one minute only to be coddled to sleep the next.
While the powers that be have made it clear that posting album tracks is verboten, the entire album is available via Soundcloud for audition. The Punx have, however, authorized the free distribution of a few remixes by the likes of Phonat, Riva Starr, and the Acid Girls; which can be found below the album preview.
