Christov

30Jun09

The first time we got wind of Christov, was back in April of this year when a small time Canadian producer who goes by the name Hemmingway remixed Christov’s tune ‘Estella’s Invitation.’ We loved what Hemingway did with Christov’s funky filter house creation and when someone emailed us with his new track, ‘Mischief,’ it begged to be posted.

‘Mischief is possibly the funkiest house track I’ve ever heard — ever. It brings me back to the early Daft Punk days, of Le Knight Club and Thomas Bagalter and of Alan Braxe and Fred Falke. The track feels like it belongs in some strange 1940s club filled with beautiful French women — a track ahead of the time appears to belong in.

Back in 1983, HBO had a promo that ran before it’s feature presentation, set in space. As a bonus, enjoy one more of Christov’s Yacht Disco flavoured tunes, this time a redux of that very theme song and video.
