The Twelves

16Apr09

So for about a week or so, I’ve had this slew of Twelve remixes just sitting around — some from emails, others from blogs… I think it’s about time I post a few.

First up! Cicada, an electronic group that I know from the past mostly due to Hed Kandi releases, is set to release their single ‘Metropolis’ on May 18th, with the LP Roulette dropping on the 25th. It’s been 3 years since their last LP, Cicada in 2006, and since then the group has had some significant developments slightly moving away from the electro-house genre and more towards dance-indie or eletro-indie (to be perfectly honest with everyone I don’t know if that makes sense to anyone else, but it does to me).

The label sent us over The Twelves’ remix of ‘Metropolis’ for us to share with you. The poppy element of the track has been replaced with more of a funk infused beat with accompanying synthesizers.

Second! Bacardi’s B-LIVE series afforded big beat masters Groove Armada to be remixed by The Twelves and Van She.

And last! A-Ha’s ‘Take On Me’ — yes The Twelves remixed this “classic” 80s pop track possibly best known for it’s video and Morten Harket’s falsetto.
