I was pretty damn pleased to find an email in our mailbox the other day with Parov Stelar in the title. It has been so long since I’ve heard anything from this Austrian producer, I almost forgot that he was still making music. Not only is he making music, but he’s streamlined himself towards the “electro movement.” If you know anything about Parov’s earlier stuff he combines older 30s style jazz vocals accompanied (always) by horns and a more typical house beat. He’s seem to moved away from the house-house side and more to the electro-house side for his new single ‘Monster.’ It’s absolutely mesmerizing.

For those of you know don’t know Parov intimately with you like I do, let me introduce to you my two all time tracks: ‘Chambermaid Swing’ and ‘Kiss Kiss.’ I really doubt you’re grandparents would believe that you’re listening to early swing/flapper/jazz tunes at the club.

Now that I’ve awed you be sure to grab the rest of the excellent Monster EP over at Beatport and if you’re really digging it just hit up the whole collection.

Whaaaaaaaatttt?! Oh man, this blog was awesome enough for me, but featuring Parov… hell yes.
I highly recommend his Flame of Fame EP, too. Four fabulous tracks.
Also Shine. Amazing, AMAZING album.
Seven & Storm is okay, a little too noir for my tastes.
Haven’t got *too* much a chance to check our Libella Swing, but from what I’ve heard it’s bangin’ (especially Hotel Axos).
If you like his work, but are hankering for more electro influences, try Cash Candy. It’s the alter-ego Parov uses for his really electro stuff.
Thanks so much Dylan! :D
I bought the new EP’s on Beatport; if anyone wants to hear the Cash Candy remixes you can find them here:
