I think Dylan Eiland is my favourite scene kid. Not because we share the same name, not because of his hair or his jeans, but because of those sweet ground shattering bass synthesized riffs that can keep me going until 3:18am. Let’s start with the new shit.
This week Dylan pumped out a remix of New York City indie-rockers The Virgins. ‘Rich Girls’ is a track I’ve heard many times before — most likely The Twelves remix of the track. Anyways, unlike The Twelves, Le Castle Vania employs grungy distorted synths on that funky Virgin’s bass line. Apparently Dylan was worried others wouldn’t like this remix compared to all the heavier stuff he’s done in the past. Let me tell you Dylon, there’s nothing wrong with change and diversity — everything else just gets boring.

The Virgins – Rich Girls (Le Castle Vania’s Spring Break No Parents Remix)
Le Castle Vania along with Rrrump and Computer Club all banded together to super-remix a Designer Drugs track: ‘Back Up In This.’ To be totally honest with you, I have no idea who is responsible for what in this remix — just that it’s really dirty. Anything else would be complete bullshit.

Designer Drugs – Back Up In This (Le Castle Vania + Rrrump + Computer Club Remix)
Save the best for last right? Fukkk Offf’s ‘Rave Is King’ has always been one of those “favourite tracks” of mine — something I was obsessed with for a period of time. The original had some pzazz to it, some flavour, but Le Castle Vania just blows it out of the water with this simple remix. I think it’s the new drum kit that makes it so special. Makes me wanna go tip a cow.
