Goodies Galore

20Oct08

Four tracks I’m really feelin’ right now. Some old, some new, but all stand out in their respective genres (I find). Figured since hype machine links individual tracks to the full post, why not fill the same post with an array of goodness and hopefully introduce that single song fetching reader to other forms of equally legit ear-candy.

Start slow & funky with an edit of a great 1981 release:

George Benson – Turn Your Love Around (Database Remix)

Some bongo drum sprinkled loungy house:

Paleface & Kyla – Do you Mind (Crazy Cousinz Remix)

Speed it up some, give it more drums:

Santogold – Shove it (Boy 8-Bit Remix)

A bassy club fix of an already killer South African original:

DJ Mujava – Township Funk (DJ Rob 3 Remix).mp3

PS. As much as I like chicks and (or with) chocolate, that bittie really needs to lose the turtleneck and get her ass a Milka.

I’m not feeling the Mujava remix. It completely looses the low-fi quality and completely kills the groove, turning into something entirely different, it just doesn’t sound like Kwaito anymore.

I absolutely LOVE the Mujava remix. It’s killer!
