Replay

Mmm more synth pop. If you listened to Verbana no.5 and heard any of Justin Faust’s previous work you might have noticed how a previously unreleased remix of Toronto’s Electric Youth by Faust was present.

Like everything else Justin produces, it procures a very old synthesized sound that is always incredibly balloon-y and happy. Together with Bronwyn (the vocalist of Electric Youth) they create a song that could probably only be labeled as complete cheese. Don’t get me wrong — this isn’t a bad thing. Every since Verbena, I’ve been complete addicted to the soft and sweet vocals, with the happy cartoon-like synth lines creating a pleasant little atmosphere. Check it out for yourself — My ramblings will make sense.

Electric Youth – Replay (Justin Faust Remix)

The original version of this song is not to be ignored! These middle-school sweethearts, heavily influenced by Italo-disco, pumped out a great 80s style dance tune with those cheesy vocals that’s just as addictive as Faust’s remix, but completely different. These tracks are so incredibly catchy — I’m conflicted.
