Ninja Tune signees The Qemists, a live DnB / Rock group outta the UK has been treated to a remix by Boston’s Hot Pink Delorean. The Q’s style is pretty aggressive, taking full advantage of drums and guitar to create a deep dark sound. That doesn’t mean they don’t also use synthesizers; and use them well. Q is a formidable “DnB band” comparable to Pendulum. Dem Brits.
Hot Pink’s take on the track changes the direction, completely. The tempo has been adjusted (to what I would consider more appropriate for dancing [skanking is not dancing]) with a funky bass line and cool synths. Not to say that the original isn’t good (you can listen to it on The Qemist’s myspace) but the remix is “cooler” if you know what I mean.
