From their home base in South London, Alex BOK BOK and Sara MANARA have worked tirelessly to earn a just reputation as one of Britain’s best underground heavy bass duos. Grounding their sets and this exclusive mixtape with off-kilter basslines, dubby anti-anthems and machine gun bursts of blistering Grime, BOK BOK & MANARA’S amped sets erupt and unfold with breakneck skill, enthusiasm and obvious passion. BOK BOK & MANARA are one of a microcosm of young artists who can rightfully claim a founding hand in today’s booming sea of new dance music sub-styles influenced by elements of U.K. Garage, U.S. RnB, Hip Hop and Dub.

Bok Bok & Manara – Exclusive No Love Lost Records Mixtape

The current issue of excellent U.S. dance music magazine XLR8R (download a PDF of the entire issue for free here) has an article on the new wave of exciting DJs and producers all hailing from Italy, featured in the article are previous No Love Lost Mixtape project guests THE BLOODY BEETROOTS (NLLR Mix #12,) CONGOROCK (NLLR Mix #09 ,) 3 IS A CROWD (NLLR Mix #22) alongside CROOKERS, BLATTA & INESHA and London based bad boy MOWGLI (NLLR Mix forthcoming.) There are however three extremely talented Italian’s noticeable by their absence in XLR8R’s otherwise solid article, the supremely fresh CLARK ABLE (NLLR Mix #52,) the musically dexterous NIC SARNO (NLLR Mix forthcoming) and royal club thumper HIS MAJESTY ANDRE. Lucky for all concerned then HIS MAJESTY ANDRE obliged my request to produce an exclusive mixtape for NO LOVE LOST, delivering a polished, velvety smooth mixture of upscale Fidget and House and provides us with yet further proof that Italy is indeed a true hotspot for vine ripe dance music talent at the moment.

His Majesty Andre – Exclusive No Love Lost Records Mixtape

Leaving a trail of happy havoc wherever he goes, you’d be hard pressed to find many individuals as active and productive in dance music at the moment as IHEARTCOMIX head honcho FRANKI CHAN (aka: TROUBLE 1.) In addition to managing a blossoming record label of diverse club centric artists like THE TOXIC AVENGER (NLLR Mix #23,) OCELOT (NLLR Mix #20,) LE CASTLE VANIA (NLLR Mix forthcoming) and FLUFFTRONIX (NLLR Mix forthcoming,) programming his popular Los Angeles club nights and heading-up a well read blog; FRANKI CHAN also finds time to DJ and produce top mixtapes. NO LOVE LOST is mighty happy the man found time to produce a mixape for our series and we think you’ll agree this thoughtfully selected and perfectly constructed daisy chain of rolling Electro beauties and full force, four-to-the-floor beasts works like an absolute charm.

Franki Chan – Exclusive No Love Lost Records Mixtape

Belgium’s PROJECT CYBORG initially piqued my interest with their excellent bootleg reworking of BEASTIE BOYS “Super Disco Breakin,” and after further investigation I quickly realised I wanted them to do a showcase mix for NO LOVE LOST. Burning through a mountain of bouncing party remixes with wry smile firmly affixed, PROJECT CYBORG have blended their mix with knowledge and an eye pointed with laser like precision at the center of the dance floor. This is a well rounded mix from a new duo destined for a whole lot more press and attention over the coming months. Enjoy!
