Fred Falke’s Golden Cage

22Apr08

The Whitest Boy Alive has had the the royal remix treatment. Of course Erlend Øye is to be blamed for his association with electronic music and being on the Kitsuné label (at least for a period of time).

Fred Falke recently got his dirty French palms all over the instrumental German project. ‘Golden Cage’ has a nice addition of synthesized horns and a funky bass line. We’ve played this track a few times on our past shows.

This is one of those unique “indie” songs that I could enjoy in even a dance setting. That being said, the original is not to be ruled out when it comes to an eclectic mix. The original bass line is too funked up for me not to upload.

You can pick up their first album from 2006 on Amazon.

As in 808pm The Beach, in this remix one can feel Fred’s “knowledge to pleasure”. Long sunny chords, light drumkit, cheerful and friendly treatments on voices. A june must hear :) thx
