Mr. James Ford & Mr. James Shaw of Simian Mobile Disco, are two ordinary guys from London, UK, who got their start making electronic music in their house together while studying in University. Simian Mobile Disco is what came after Simian disbanded in 2005, when Shaw and Ford broke off from Simon William Lord & Alex MacNaghten. Lord went off to found the SHIT HOT electronic duo”The Black Ghosts” with Dj Touche from The Wiseguys. Check out their video for the single “Any Way you Choose to Give it” below.
Their track, “We are your friends”, was remixed by Ed Banger GIANT, Justice, in one of Justices’ earlier career moves. The remix lost the contest, but as time went on, it’s popularity exploded, and it became less widely known as an SMD track and the Simian name was dropped from the titles.
Check out their debut album “Attack Decay Sustain Release” which was released in June 2007. They’ll be hitting up Montreal on March 20, 2008 and Toronto on March 21, 2008.
(if only they were coming to Ottawa, then I would be a happy camper, along with everyone else who is wonderful but decide to skip out on the Capital…)
